    Official Ms Office For Mac

Dear Microsoft, Could you please tell me how to file a complaint to Microsoft? I am currently at home for the weekend and I have a ton of work due on Monday. I am an accountant so ALL my work is in Excel and I depend on your product to be reliable. Recently, I ran updates for my Office for Mac app and now for some apparent reason Excel will not open ANY files I have. They are all in.xlsx so there aren't any incompatibility issues.

I have been able to open files with no issues for the past year. Now Excel on my Mac tells me that my files all need to be repaired and when I click repair it says they can't be fixed. Keep in mind all of these files work perfectly well on my work computer running Excel 2010. So, I called MS technical support. When asked for help the first guy told me that: 1. Windows and Mac are different. This is complicated.

High Compatibility High compatibility with Microsoft Office( Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Txt), Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slide, Adobe PDF and OpenOffice format.

They don't support data recovery. You will have to hire a data recovery specialist. He couldn't tell me anything. He was so lazy he didn't even google it to learn about my problem and see if others were experiencing it as well.

No advice, suggestions, web link, nothing. It was a complete and utter waste of time. I explained the files weren't corrupted. Otherwise they would not have all worked perfectly just the day before and plus they worked on my Windows PC so I don't need them recovered. I just need them to work at home on the Microsoft app I spent my hard-earned money on. BUT he didn't care about my problem. Like a typical outsourced technical support agent, he read me a monotone script, had no interest or qualifications or technical expertise.

The 2nd time I called I kindly asked if he was in the states or if not, could I please speak to someone in the states (I seem to have a better chance of speaking to someone knowledgeable in the US - nothing against workers in other countries). He wouldn't answer.

His exact quote was, 'Oh! That would be nice to answer though, how may I help you?' , again another scripted response courtesy of Microsoft. I kindly asked again and he gave me a number to call to speak to a technical support agent in the US. I was ecstatic. The 3rd time I called, I asked to confirm I was speaking to someone in the US. He said that MICROSOFT does NOT have ANY technical support employees in the United States.

They are all outside the US. I thought, okay well agent #2 must have lied to end the call or just didn't know any better (probably the latter).

No problem, if this guy knows what he is talking about, I thought, then that is all I really care about. So, I asked him if he had any technical expertise. Mainly because agent #1 described the issue as 'complicated' and I really didn't have the time or the stomach to listen to any more BS or excuses or hearing the guy repeat back my problem in different words and then go on to offer no solutions.

He replied, 'You have contacted the Microsoft technical support desk'. I might have well been talking to the annoying bot on MS's support home page. I asked him once more, again because I had wasted 45 minutes already with #1 & #2 and he replied, 'of course'. So, I asked him to elaborate and the guy freaking HUNG UP on me. In conclusion, I have these simple questions for Microsoft.

Why don't you believe in hiring technical support agents in the United States? Why is your support so incompetent? Why don't you have a tier system (i.e. Tier 1, tier etc.) where you have more experienced agents taking on problems that can't be answered by a script read by people that know absolutely nothing about technical issues? 4. Why did you roll out a product for Mac that doesn’t work on both systems?
